Side Notes
I wanted to share with you a little side note on my thoughts about stressing over paying the bills. Personally, I've found my stress over things is reduced if I know that I'm not the only person struggling with something. I don't think it really falls into the category of "misery loves company", but more of a feeling that others have been in my situation and made it out, so there is hope for me too. So, if I'm having a hard time sticking to my budget, let me find out how other people have learned to do that and see if their methods will work for me. Or if I'm about to get my first mortgage, maybe I can read what horror stories others had so I know what to look out for so it won't happen to me. I know I learn from my mistakes (usually ).and I have no problem learning from others' mistakes!!! Being able to share and learn can really help relieve the stress of anything, including money matters! So come on in and relieve some of that stress!

Announcements

I've put up a free public blog. I had a request to list the new credit card laws in short and simple terms, not just the articles being written giving more information in detail about them.

I've started a new series of articles on the new credit card laws, CARD Act of 2009, and how they affect you. You can read the shortened version in the free weekly newsletters, or members log in and read the full articles. You can also access our newsletter archive to view previous newsletters you might have missed. Or for members, you can log in and read the full article.

If you're a new member, you'll have immediate access to articles, and access to the forum within 24 hours of joining. Members can log-in to the forum using your alias and same password as your regular login.

Money talks...

...mine says good-bye

If you're even remotely like me, you know that statement is all too true! But you can take control and cut down on how much is saying good-bye and how quickly! I think that somewhere along the way, we were all taught not to talk about money matters. While I can understand not wanting friends, family, and nosy neighbors to know exactly where we stand financially, I think that also isolates us. Why have many people make the same mistake, when information can be shared to help each other avoid it? And when you make a mistake in the financial arena, it's usually a VERY EXPENSIVE mistake! So what if there was a place where you could go and learn insider bank info, learn from others, and even ask specific questions about your situation, while still having the anonymity of the Internet? Well, you've just found it!

This is the place to find bank "insider information". We have specialists who can give you the ins and outs and warn you what to watch out for BEFORE you make a costly mistake. This community is designed to help people reach our common goal, a better financial situation!

I think as a culture, we've come to rely on credit, especially credit cards, as part of our daily lives.  While that isn't the smartest financial choice, people were, for the most part, getting along ok with it.  Now we're finding ourselves in a recession, and it's absolutely crippling people!  Something that we used to take for granted has now come back to bite us.  So I'm hoping to be able to help people with better education on financial issues, and hopefully even catch people before they fall into a financial pit.  I also want to be able to build this community so that people dealing with these issues, which is MOST people, have a place to go get some support to help relieve some of the stress of it.

You can read more about how the community came about in About the Payday to Payday Association, or more about me and my background in About Samantha. You'll find most of your navigation thru the Article List.

This community is here for all of us living payday to payday.  So welcome, and come on in!

I'm going to try to post updates on Twitter, but we'll have to see how well I do with that.

I'm always writing new articles for you.

I'm currently working on an e-course for budgeting that I will probably offer to the public for a short time to get feedback on improving or tweaking it. So watch for notice on that coming up!
